USD 22 million investment in Pakistan by Nestlé during economic challenges

Nestlé Pakistan has recently inaugurated a new USD 22 million manufacturing plant at its Sheikhupura factory.

This has come at a time when the country is facing major economic challenges and the government is pulling out all stops to attract foreign direct investment inflows that have remained low for over a decade. Nestle’s investment at this time, shows its trust in the country’s future economic potential.

Constantly evolving as an organization that creates shared value (CSV) through redefining productivity in the value chain, Nestlé has been taking initiatives that have boosted economic growth, prosperity and sustainable development while empowering people and communities in the country.

The state-of-the-art plant of has a production capacity of 24,000 units per hour and will cater specifically to Nestlé’s range of juices, nectars and drinks. In line with the company’s CSV approach, Nestlé is looking forward to integrate its Chaunsa Value Chain. This is being done by procuring mangoes from the 110 farms where Nestlé has introduced interventions, hence supporting farms, farmers and communities, and eventually ensuring the quality of its products.

This is an important step towards long term commitments of incorporating social and societal aspects that can back major corporate decisions and opportunities. Nestlé Pakistan is ambitious to ensure that all its activities and products are making a positive difference in the society, while contributing to its ongoing success.

Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar who was the Chief Guest on the occasion said, “We aim to create conditions in which foreign companies are attracted towards making new investments.
