MUMBAI – Indian extremist group Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had earlier given Pakistani artists an ultimatum of 48-hours to leave the country or face the consequences as the tensions between the two countries escalated following the Uri attack.
As the deadline ended yesterday, the MNS claimed ‘hurried evacuation’ of Pakistani artists and encircled the house of Producer Karan Johar later on who had boldly voiced in the favor of Pakistani artists.
Recently, in a phone conversation with the MNS President Raj Thackeray, Salman Khan requested the latter to let ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ (which has Fawad Khan) and ‘Raees’ (in which Mahira Khan is seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan) release peacefully without any aggression against the two films.
Saif Ali Khan in a statement said artists should spread love, peace and talent. In an interview to Indian media said added “The world is open to our film industry and our film industry is open to talents from around the world especially cross border. We are artists who talk about love and peace.”
Earlier, actor Shah Rukh Khan had also given statements in favor of Fawad Khan and other Pakistani artists.
