Eidul Azha 2017: UAE to celebrate Eid on September 1

KUWAIT - Eidul Azha will be celebrated in UAE on September 1, 2017, the department of astronomy and space sciences at Kuwait Science Club has announced.

According to a press release issued by the department, and quoted across Kuwaiti media, the department announced that Wednesday, August 23, will be the first day of Zul Hijjah, 1438.

Arafat Day, which falls on the ninth day of the Zul Hijjah month, will be observed on Thursday, August 31, while Eidul Azha will be observed on September 1.

Last week, Saudi Arabia announced a 16-day holiday for Eidul Azha, while UAE is yet to announce the dates. A three-day holiday is usually observed in the UAE for Eidul Azha.

Eid in Pakistan

For Eid in Pakistan, a meeting of central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) in Karachi for sighting the crescent of Zil-Hajj.
