Pakistani stage dancer Qismat Baig shot dead in Lahore

LAHORE –  Qismat Baig, a Pakistani stage dancer hailing from Harbanspura was shot dead by unknown attackers on Thursday.

The dancer traveling in her car, along with her gunman, when unknown armed men fired shots at her vehicle in the Harbanspura area this morning.

According to the police, the dancer received eleven bullets while the gunman received one on his foot.

Qismat was rushed to services hospital but she breathed her last a few hours ago.

Actors fraternity protested heavily following the incident. Scores of producers and actors took to Mall road Lahore urging the government to arrest the culprits. The protesters also blocked a section of Mall road caused disruption in traffic.

Member Punjab Assembly and former actor Kanwal also arrived at the spot.

Meanwhile, Stage actress Afreen alleged that the Punjab government was responsible for the murder of Qismat Baig.

“What is our fault? We are artists and our job is to bring smile on faces of people,” she said, adding that Qismat Baig was brutally murdered in broad daylight.
