It’s a bittersweet goodbye from Strings to Coke Studio
LAHORE - Strings, one of the most prominent bands in music industry of Pakistan, have lead Coke Studio to great heights. Sadly, it’s time they bid goodbye.

The band, consisting of Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia, announced on their social media platforms that “Coke Studio Season 10 will be the last season produced by Strings.”

In an official statement, Strings said, “It has been a fantastic journey for us over the course of 4 seasons and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to learn and share our work with all of you. 2018 will mark 30 years of Strings and we are super excited to celebrate with all of you so stay tuned for more updates as we embark on yet another exciting chapter in our musical journey!”

Strings was founded in 1988. Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia have produced hits like Dhanni, Durr, Najaany Kuon, Zinda and many others over the years. They replaced Rohail Hyatt in Season 7 of Coke Studio when he stepped aside after Season 6.

The fate of Coke Studio remains unclear as it is yet to be decided who will be heading the gig for the next year. While some speculate that Rohail Hyatt will return for the next season, the final decision is still under wraps.
