JAKARTA (News Desk) – At least seven people, including three policemen and one foreigner, were killed and several others injured in multiple explosions in central Jakarta, Indonesia, media reports said on Thursday.
Reports said that at least six explosions, including two minor blasts, were heard. Gunshots were also fired after the blasts.

Police officials said that blasts took place in shopping malls and restaurants. A police check post was also destroyed in the blasts. United Nations office and several foreign embassies were also located in the area.
“Around a dozen attackers riding motorcycles three hand grenades on the sites and later exchanged gunfire with police officials present on different location,” one of the policemen has been quoted as saying on TV.
The attackers later hid themselves in a building where they were killed by police and other law enforcement agencies in a shoot out.

Rescue teams and law enforcement agencies rushed to the blast site immediately. The area was cordoned off and nobody was allowed to enter.
There are no claims of responsibility of explosions immediately however officials said that they had received an IS threat in December.
Photos shared by a local TV channel showed smoke rising from the blast site.
Another photo shared by a Jakarta based journalist showed police exchanging gunfire with suspected attackers.
