Rabi-ul-Awwal moon sighted in Pakistan; Eid Milad-un-Nabi on December 12

LAHORE – The moon of Islamic month of Rabi ul Awwal has been sighted in Pakistan, Ruet-e-Hilal committee chairman Mufti Muneebur Rehman has announced.

The first Rabi-ul-Awwal will be on Thursday, December 1 while 12 Rabi ul Awwal, the birthday of Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), will fall on December 12, Monday.

Mufti Muneeb made the announcement after chairing a meeting of the moon sighting committee in the federal capital.

He said that 12 Rabi ul Awwal would be celebrated across Pakistan with religious passion and fervor on December 12, Monday.

The new moon of Rabi-ul-Awwal, 1438 AH, was born on crossing conjunction point at 17-18 PST on 29-11-2016.

According to astronomical parameters, there was fair chance for the sighting new moon of Rabi-ul-Awwal, 1438 AH on the evening of 30-11-2016 i.e. on 29th of Safar, 1438 AH.
